A 20% deposit must be made to confirm any booking. The total remaining 

balance must be fully credited to our account 61 days before the departure date

• 121 days or more prior to the departure date – a 10% cancellation fee out of the total amount of the lodge stay applies
• 120 to 61 days prior to the departure date – a 20% cancellation fee out of the total amount of the lodge stay applies
• 60 days prior to the departure date– a full cancellation fee out of the total amount of the lodge stay applies

• La Selva Eco-Lodge & Retreat will proceed to confirm spaces once payment conditions are met.
• All payments must be made, credited, and cleared within the time limits stated in La Selva Eco-Lodge & Retreat’ policies detailed above.
• All transactions must be made in US dollars, and transfer fees must be covered by the client.
• A written confirmation is required and mandatory to confirm, reschedule, or cancel any booking. The client must request a written confirmation from us informing us about the notification received.
• La Selva Eco-Lodge & Retreat will inform the client if penalties will be applied following the policies implemented for such purposes.
• Our system manages availability automatically; therefore, spaces will be released if payments are not made.
• Priority is given with full payment on a first-paid, first-served basis.
• The client is responsible for ensuring that the information stated on the invoice sent by us is correct, and that payment is made under the conditions established for such purposes. If a discrepancy arises once full payment or a deposit has been received, we are not liable for complaints or refunds.
• La Selva Eco-Lodge & Retreat will provide a digital voucher for services once full payment has been credited into its bank account.
• Bear in mind that 100% charges apply in case the local flight tickets have been already issued.

• La Selva will reserve, book, and issue the fight tickets
• In case the tickets are issued directly, a penalty fee of USD 50 per person applies (subject to change)
• Prices, availability, and schedules are subject to change without prior notice– Prices include fuel surcharges and airport taxes
• Airfare must be reconfirmed within 30 days before the tour start date

Important Notes regarding Flights:

• Luggage weight limit: 23 kg (50.7 lbs) per passenger
• Carry-on weight limit: 10 kg (22 lbs) per passenger
• Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure hour (time)
• Flight time is approximately 30 minutes
• Consult our Account Managers for departure times and/or scheduled flight changes

Bilingual and Native Guides are designated to our groups which are a maximum of 8 

people.  If you would like a more personal experience, we can happily assign you a 

private guide.  Private guides are ONLY available upon request, with additional cost, 

during the booking process.

Gratuities are at the sole discretion of the guests and should be based on the level 

of service received.  It is customary to leave a gratuity for the guides and personnel 

separately.

Suggestions:

• Naturalist Bilingual Guide:  $15 per guest per night
• Native Guide: $10 per guest per night
• General Staff: $20 per guest per day (please keep in mind that tips will be shared equally among the 28-person staff)

personal matter and entirely depends on the value of the service you received.
